Summer Schedule at Rumney:
Rumney office staff are in periodically over the summer. Please feel free to contact us by phone -- leave a voice mail message at 223-5429 ext. 0, or email office@rumney.org. Your message will be returned within a couple of days.

Summertime Nurse Notes:
Medication - All medication orders expired at the end of the school year, so please get new MD orders before the start of school and bring the medication in-person.
Summer Safety Reminders - Keep safety in mind this summer when you are all outside having fun. Applying sunscreen should be a routine activity in the summer whenever spending time outside. If you spend any time in fields or grass, you should check your children for deer ticks, which can cause Lyme Disease. Swimming and other water sports are great activities, but need to be closely supervised. As always, make sure your children wear helmets for any biking or skateboarding activity. Have a safe and fun summer!

Music Notes:
Friends of Music - I would like to plant a seed as I begin to look toward planning next school year’s events. I would like to start a group called the Friends of Music to meet a few times each season to help plan the logistical aspects of Rumney concerts. This group would be made up of parent volunteers who are willing to take on things such as managing groups waiting to perform, lining up performers to walk on to the performing area, decorating our gym to make it look more festive, and setting up and cleaning up chairs. These are all things that I try to do myself, but as you see, it is very difficult to accomplish everything. Please contact me if you are interested in being a Friend of Music. We will have our first planning gathering early next Fall to plan for the Holiday Concerts.

Library News:
New Next Year - We hope to have a new painting hanging in the library next year. As most of you know, Lynne Woodard is taking an extended leave to care for her husband Charles. You might not know that Charles is an accomplished painter. Rumney Staff are gathering funds to purchase one of his paintings to hang in the library. Donations are welcomed. Save Box Tops Over the Summer! Thanks to everyone who brought in Box Tops this year -- These earned almost $200.00 for the Principal's Discretionary Fund! Keep saving Box Tops during the summer months, and bring them in when school starts up again in August. We will "Jam the Jar" in the lobby again next year and continue to earn money for Rumney! Thanks again!
