Rumney School Library Annual Book Fair -- Next Week! February 6-9 from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm and February 10 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm in the Rumney School Library. 10% off marked prices! Each class will have time to look at the books during their regularly scheduled library time, but no sales will be made to children during class time. Purchases can be made before or after school, or during snack time with teachers’ permission. Families are invited to come anytime from 8:30 until 6 pm. This is not a commercial, packaged book fair, but one for which Mrs.Woodard has chosen all books to match the interests of our community of readers.  Proceeds are used to pay visiting authors and to make special purchases for the library. Please come during any of the hours listed above!

The storage trailer in the parking lot will be taped off beginning February 4, 2012 when demolition begins on it. Please remind your children that it is unsafe to go past a taped/ roped off area. The demolition should last for a month.

Morning Procedures Reminder (excerpts from the Family Handbook): The school day begins at 9:00 am. Students arriving between 8:35 and 8:45 am may wait quietly in the lobby. At 8:45, the first bell rings, indicating that students may go to their classrooms or get breakfast. Dropping Off Students: Parents who drop off students at school should try to do so between 8:45 and 8:50 am. Students who arrive before 8:35 am must sign in to the Community Connections morning program. Please see the Community Connections Parent Handbook for more information. If you drop your child off at school, you are welcome to walk your child to their classroom and briefly help them settle in. By 9:00 am, we need to have all the parents out of the classrooms so that formal instruction can begin.

Rumney School Board News: Please see the lobby bulletin board or the school board page on the Rumney website for recent minutes, upcoming agendas, and policies. Upcoming Meetings: Feb. 15 in the Rumney library at 6:00 pm.

From Mrs. Domanski's Students: At Rumney right now we are doing a DVD drive for kids at CHAD (Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth). We will collect used movies, anything from Elmo to Hamlet!  There will be a box in the hallway of the 3-4, 5th and 6th grades and a box in the primary unit.  We are collecting movies until February break. Thanks!
